Household and postcode level matches explained
If you have subscribed to the Mosaic feature we will go through all of your contact addresses and try to match them to a Mosaic group and type. This can be done in two different ways:
1. Household level where we match based on an individual house
2. Postcode level where we match based on a postcode
In the UK, there is an average of 15 houses per postcode, so on average the postcode level match will group together roughly 15 households.
This means it is much better to use the household level match type, as the postcode level will be less accurate.
However not every household and postcode is on on the Mosaic system so there will be some contact addresses that we are unable to match. The match rates are roughly:
1. 75% to 85% for household level
2. 98% for postcode level
So, we start by trying to match all of your contact addresses at the household level, then for any that we are unable to find a match for we then try again at the postcode level.
